Two weeks left to register for FEMA aid

Anyone wishing to apply for FEMA/SBA assistance must do so by December 15, 2011. This is the deadline for both Irena and Lee applications.

Nationwide EAS test

FEMA and the FCC will conduct the first-ever simultaneous nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System. The test will be performed over all radio and TV stations (local, cable and satellite systems) at approximately 2 PM on Wednesday November 9. The duration of the test will be about 30 seconds.

Storm update

The number of Central Hudson customers without power is down to 3,253 as of 3 PM today.

The Red Cross shelter at SUNY New Paltz will close at 5 PM this evening. Only 3 residents stayed at the shelter on Sunday evening; 2 last night. Power has been restored to those 2 residents, and no one else has indicated a need to stay tonight.
