Fire grants web site changing

Effective April 1, 2011 the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program web site is moving from www.firegrantsupport.com to www.fema.gov/firegrants. Please make certain you use the new site for all Fire Act and SAFER grant information, questions and applications.

Ashokan Watershed Conference

The Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program will hold their 2nd annual conference on April 9 from 9 AM to 2:30 PM at the Emerson Resort in Mt. Tremper. The title of this year's conference is Flood Resilience for Towns, Businesses and Landowners. As the county continues to dry out from the recent flooding, County Executive Mike Hein issued the following statement

Kingston -- “Thank you to all volunteer fire departments; the city, town, village and county departments of public works (DPWs); and the City of Kingston’s Fire Department for your Herculean efforts helping Ulster County residents and businesses recover from the most recent flood. Because of your hard work, over 300 basements were pumped out and numerous flooded roads were appropriately addressed. Thank you also to the countless neighbors helping neighbors who made all the difference."
